The famous Lambrusco del Fondatore of Cleto Chiarli is not a “simple” Lambrusco. In spite of its simplicity and pleasantness, in fact, this product is not born from a classic carbonation process in autoclave, the so-called Charmat method. But it is the result of a re-fermentation in the bottle, just as it was originally made by the founder of the company. Another peculiarity is the corking, which in this case is done strictly with natural cork and the classic “string” tie. The particular production technique chosen for this Lambrusco del Fondatore gives life to a very deep wine, slightly bitterish and at the same time able to amaze the taster thanks to its extraordinary, expressive strength.
It’s hard to think about the world of quality Lambrusco without pausing for a moment on the Cleto Chiarli Company that has had its roots in the tradition and history of the province of Modena for over a century and a half. A family-run business that for years has been producing millions of bottles of the world’s best-loved sparkling red wine and exporting them to practically every corner of the globe. A story that started with the production destined for the customers of the small family tavern and that culminated in obtaining the “Mention Honorable” at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900. Today the company can count on a surface area of 100 hectares of vines and, interestingly and uncommonly for the area, makes wine exclusively from grapes grown on its own land.
