Tchotiashvil – Rkatsiteli Reserve – Georgia – 2009 The technology and secrets of family winemaking are passed down from generation to generation. Kakha Chotiashvili, together with his family, strictly controls all processes and takes care of them with special love. The company owns 4.5 hectares of land, where Rkatsiteli, Kisi, Green, Khikhiv and Saferavi are cultivated. Chotiashvili uses Rkasiteli grapes only from his own vineyards in Sanior, Kakheti.
“Limited Reserve” means a small number of the best samples of a particular vintage. Each bottle goes through strict control and can be sold only after the winemaker’s signature. Quantities are limited, each bottle has its own unique number. Tchotiashvil Rkasiteli Reserve is a Kvevri wine made by traditional Kacheti technology. Maceration continues for 7 months in a pitcher’s vat on grape skins with seeds and stems. Rkatsiteli – a vine over 40 years old, located at the foot of the Caucasus at an altitude of up to 480 m above sea level. The soil has a light mechanical structure (cordier carbonate-sand) and does not require irrigation.
