TASTING
To produce this great wine, we blend together the 3 key white grape varieties of the estate, namely Sauvignon, Sémillon and Muscadelle. Bright yellow in colour with hints of green, there are aromas of pears, white flowers (honeysuckle) along with pink grapefruit and vanilla. On the palate, the texture is fine and creamy. The richness of the attack is perfectly balanced by a crisp acidity and the flavours persist for several minutes. Drink now or keep for a few years. Enjoy as an aperitif, this wine is especially well suited to marinated raw fish or aged goat’s cheese.
2019, ANOTHER YEAR OF CONTRASTS
It’s difficult to draw conclusions about the vintage from the climatic conditions of 2019, as they are so varied from one month to the next. After a mild and wet winter, budburst was very early – around 25 March at Thénac. The most striking feature of the year was undoubtedly July. We did not see any rainfall from 21 June to 28 July, with scorching temperature of over 40°C. Fortunately, August and September completely changed the situation. Milder temperatures in these months allowed the vines to relax and thus obtain perfect ripeness. As a result, the harvest took place under perfect conditions, beginning on 11 September and ending on 10 October.
