55% MERLOT,
30% CABERNET SAUVIGNON,
15 % CABERNET FRANC
Pale in colour with some salmon-pink highlights. Blackcurrant, raspberry and crushed
strawberry notes characterise the aromas on the nose. The palate is unctuous, full and
ends with a gentle freshness. Best enjoyed with cold starters, grilled meats or fish.
After a break in 2021, 2022 was again a very mild year. Only in April were the
temperatures below the monthly average of the last ten years. In almost all other
months, records for warmth and mildness were broken. Another striking fact: the
drought, the water deficit started in winter and accompanied the whole vegetative
season, only 47 mm of rain fell in July and August. The vine, because of its resilience but
also because of its Mediterranean origins, resisted these extreme conditions
particularly well. We also had to change our way of working in the vineyard: more
tillage to avoid competition from grass and less intervention on the foliage to keep the
shade and protect the grapes. The harvest started on August 25th and ended on
October 26th for our sweet wine.
